Acute Respite Care (ARC)

The ARC programme adopts a child-centric framework and functions to provide an interim support system for the parents as they work towards resolving their own crises. Through our direct support for the child, the community social worker is then able to work with parents to put in place longer-term support systems (eg. vocational, familial, and medical accommodation).

Sanctuary care only accepts referrals for ARC from social service agencies such as Family Service Centres, Hospitals, Child Protection Specialist Centres etc.

For Social Workers, download the referral form and email the completed form back to us at sanctuarycare@boystown.org.sg

Our Clients: Newborn infants and children up to the age of 8. The duration and the respite care arrangements depends on the needs of the clients as well as the support available. It can range from a few hours to a recurrent arrangement spread over a period of up to 90 days.

Our Goal: To stabilise, support, and strengthen the family system so that the child in need is kept safe and out of the child protection system.
