FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES
- Oversee the operations of YouthReach and to provide regular updates to Director (Clinical Services).
- Be responsible for programmes planning, risk evaluation, implementation and evaluation of all youth outreach programmes.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessment of youth trends to maintain the fidelity of YouthReach model.
- Develop orientation and on-boarding programme for new YouthReach staff and interns.
- Develop strategic plans to ensure sustainability of outreach activities, youth development programmes and other centre-based activities.
- Plan and conduct activities including regular street outreach, community outreach and other forms of outreach relevant to the programmes and services of YouthReach.
- Conduct case management: To identify potential client in crisis or in distress, analyse circumstances and dynamics with sound judgment, develop strategies and intervention plan to deal with identified issues and to inform supervisor on crisis or unusual incidents.
- Supervise and guide the youth workers and interns in the design, development and implementation of outreach programmes.
- Supervise and/or facilitate group work/workshop intervention for identified youths at-risk.
- Supervise the youth workers in case management and ensure document of reports.
- Engage, mentor and counsel alienated and ‘at-risk’ groups who reject formal activities to establish rapport for future intervention.
- Develop YouthReach programmes such as Youth Development Programmes (YDP), and other programmes as required.
- Represent YouthReach in community networking events.
- Facilitate group work/workshop intervention and ensure regular contact with youths identified to be at-risk.
- Maintain and document records of all outreach activities and case sessions.
- Conduct and document evaluation reports for all outreach activities/programmes planned and implemented.
- You are required to be flexible in your working hours, according to the needs of the programmes and clients.
- All direct service personnel are required to support/conduct research when called upon for their respective functions.
MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILTIES
- Identify, plan, initiate and monitor existing and new programmes and activities that will enhance the psycho-social and emotional development of the clients.
- Manage and administer youth and community projects, resources and department budget.
- Manage manpower issues including recruitment, staff leave, staff conduct etc.
- Approve online processes: staff leave, payment requisition, transport claims, performance appraisal, approving of KPIs, other claims .
- Mentor and guide youth workers and interns in the function of their roles and their career development.
- Ensure proper governance and to maintain audit requirements.
- Conduct presentations at various platforms sharing the work of YouthReach and Boys’ Town.
- Driving results including setting and tracking of KPIs for department and staff.
- Seek out and apply for grants relevant for YouthReach programmes.
- Establish best practices in youth work and department processes.
- Oversee the research of the department programs including research write-up and presentation.
- Meet regularly with Director (Clinical Services) to assess YouthReach strategic plans and programme outcome/effectiveness.
- Represent YouthReach in community networking, Youth Work Association, stakeholder meetings and events.
- Participate in management planning, meetings and discussions.
- Contribute to policy making within the home by providing feedback to senior management.
ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITES
- You will also participate actively in the fund-raising events as well as any other commitments that Boys’ Town YouthReach and Boys’ Town undertakes.
- You will work in close collaboration with the other staff Boys’ Town YouthReach, Boys’ Town and of the other components of Boys’ Town in matters pertaining to the welfare of the clients.
- Other than the above, the Directors and/or Executive Director may assign you any other duties that are within reason for the benefit of the clients, and/or Boys’ Town.
