FUNCTIONAL
- Ensure the clinical team carries out accurate assessment of individual needs of children/youth/family in the areas of family capacity, emotional stability, peer relations and community profile.
- Ensure the development and implementation of intervention plans within ethical guidelines.
- Ensure the clinical team build and maintain a positive supportive relationship with children/youth in the programme and provide direct intervention with the client when required.
- Ensure the clinical team carry out their work in a professional manner, including protecting the confidentiality of the counselling sessions, and the clients.
- Work with clients which involves working with their thought processes, feelings and behavior; either on an individual or group basis, with known and safe counselling and psychotherapy modalities that will help the clients’ process and overcome their behavioural, emotional and thinking issues.
- Ensure clinical team maintains client confidentiality and develop a system for safe keeping of confidential materials.
- Ensure the clinical team keep proper case records of clients; including clients’ personal information, reports and proper documentation of all sessions and clients.
- Manage complex cases with significant mental health challenges and provide crisis intervention management.
- Provide consultations with stakeholders, while remaining involved in the care of the client, revising the treatment protocol as and when needed.
- Conduct talks/ workshops on selected mental health topics for the community (e.g. schools, parents, families, peer supporters, volunteers, other social service agencies.
- Uphold the ethical practices and legal guidelines relating to client care.
- Ensure flexible working hours, according to the needs of the programmes and clients.
- Work in close collaboration with the other staff of the Home and of the other components of Boys’ Town in matters pertaining to the welfare of the clients.
- Participate and/or conduct research to advance knowledge and stay current with evidence-based practices and professional standards.
- Presenting research findings at conferences and contribute to publications when opportunity arises.
MANAGERIAL
- Assist the Director in maintaining documentation detailing service delivery, audit and governance, outcome measures, community contacts and referrals.
- Supervise interns, clinicians, counsellors, youthworkers, interns.
- Providing in-house training to BT clinical staff to upskill and develop their clinical skills.
- Ensure collation and preparation of monthly, quarterly and bi-yearly reports.
- Evaluate and Assess the relevance of current clinical services and programme and suggest to Directors.
- Sit in the School of Purpose to gatekeep the 4K services SOPs.
- Explore potential grant with Directors and manage grant requirements.
- Represent BT in external functions as a management member where the need arises.
- To lead in roadshows and community programmes in support of children and youth mental health.
ORGANIZATIONAL
- To participate actively in all fundraising activities as well as any other commitments that Boys’ Town undertakes.
- To work in close collaboration with other staff, department and components of Boys’ Town.
The Executive Director and or his/her representative may assign you any other duties that are within reason for the operation needs of Boys’ Town.
