To be in the community to befriend at-risk youths and connect them to the relevant resources. Making assessments and planning for interventions for our youths. To plan and conduct engagement activities for youths. Be an advocate for youth-related issues in the community and build a network with community stakeholders.
Do outreach youth work that may involve working out of the physical environment of the office. Plan and conduct activities including regular street outreach and community outreach.
Assist the Manager to identify, plan, initiate and monitor existing and new programmes and activities that will enhance the psycho-social and emotional development of the clients.
Assist the Manager to manage and administer youth and community projects and resources.
Case management: To spot potential client in crisis or in distress, analyze circumstances and dynamics with sound judgment, develop strategies and intervention plan to deal with identified issues, and to inform the supervisor of a crisis or unusual incidents. Liaise and work with other professionals and client’s system including family and school counselors to ensure holistic and effective intervention.
Engage, mentor and counsel alienated and ‘at-risk’ groups who reject formal activities to establish rapport for future intervention.
Facilitate group work/workshop intervention and ensure regular contact with youths identified to be at-risk.
Design and facilitate interest-based Youth Development Programmes.
Maintain and document records of all outreach activities and case sessions.
Conduct and document evaluation reports for all outreach activities planned and implemented.
Create content for social media outreach.
Meet regularly with the Manager, YouthReach to assess case progress, intervention effectiveness and debrief and inform the Manager, YouthReach of caseloads and outcomes.
To be flexible in your working hours, according to the needs of the programmes and clients.
To drive the organisation’s vehicle for outreach and activities, if applicable.
Design and facilitate advocacy projects.
Minimum Diploma in Social Sciences or related discipline.
Comfortable with a primary workplace at Tampines.
Demonstrate emotional maturity and genuine passion to work with children and youths.
Able to work independently and in a team, possess good interpersonal, communication and written skills.
Added advantage if the candidate has prior experience working with and mentoring youths.
Added advantage if the candidate has experience in expressive arts-based projects or initiatives.
Added advantage if the candidate has experience in programme design and facilitation & social media content creation.
