To effectively manage cases receiving respite care services, to recruit respite carers as well as design and implement suitable programmes to support the services of Sanctuary Care.
- Conduct in-depth assessment and produce written reports on the suitability of applicants for the role of respite carer, present findings to the management of BT and follow up on decisions and recommendations.
- Match respite families with a foster child, based on factors such as the CANs assessment and/or age race religion as well as the foster parent’s capability to meet the child’s needs.
- Conduct all the necessary checks including announced and unannounced home visits to ensure that the respite carer is able to safeguard and promote the child’s safety, stability and wellbeing.
- Organise and participate in inter-agency efforts to support the welfare and development of the foster child/CYP.
- Provide a 24-hour hotline for respite carers per duty schedule and ensure that the team follows up on outcomes.
- Supervise and support foster placement so as to prevent breakdowns in the foster child’s existing care arrangements.
- Spearhead case movement through regular team meetings, monthly case review sessions, supervision sessions etc.
- Identify at-risk situations, and develop strategies and intervention plans to address child safety issues and wellbeing.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of case management and other support programmes and activities extended to respite carer families.
- Produce accurate recordings of the cases and submit reports to Boys' Town and other partners.
- Participates in road shows and other community outreach events when necessary.
- Meet regularly with the Head of Sanctuary Care/supervisor to assess case progress and programme outcome/effectiveness.
- Manage and support volunteers interested in providing their service to SC.
- Contribute relevant articles on respite care /parenting on SC Facebook and other social media/collaterals) and respond to enquiries/comments.
- Support BT operations in managing the donated items and maintain the recordings on the dispensation of various donated items to respite carers.
- To engage in some marketing and publicity projects to promote SC services.
- Bachelor's Degree or Post-Graduate Diploma in Social Sciences or a related field e.g. Social Work/Counselling/Psychology.
- Experience in working with children and their families preferred.
- Experience working in the social service sector will be advantageous.
