To ensure and carry out Residential Services (RS) daily programmes/operations in Boys’ Town smoothly.
To guide, coach and lead the Youth Specialists in performing their functions.
To promote a child-safe environment and enhance the youth’s general well-being.
- To conduct on-the-job training (OJT) for new Youth Specialists.
- To perform the daily supervision of youth and lead the Youth Specialists in performing their tasks.
- To be attentive and look into the well-being of residents by being available and to be accountable for the residents’ whereabouts when on duty.
- To provide close supervision and maintain discipline of the residents in accordance with the daily programme.
- To coach the Youth Specialists in motivating and actively engaging the residents to participate in the BT/daily programme.
- To carry out any administrative work and portfolios assigned by the Residential Unit Managers.
- To conduct briefings with the next Duty Officer during the process of handling over duties.
- To coach and support the Youth Specialists in maintaining the good discipline of the boys in consultation with Residential Unit Managers and the Head of Residential Services.
- To support the Residential Unit Managers in implementing the relevant model of care/ services in accordance with the needs and profile of the residents.
- To assist the Residential Unit Managers in ensuring total compliance with SOPs, policies and regulatory requirements of Boys’ Town by keeping proper documentation as required.
- To ensure that all documents (SOPs, Portfolio, Fire-drill Report, BOV Report) are ready for checking by the management.
- To facilitate the induction process for all new staff who come on board.
- To be well-versed in incident management and to ensure that the daily programme returns to normal thereafter.
- To coach and guide the Youth Specialists in the planning of BT programmes.
- To assist in providing orientation, mentorship, coaching and supervision for new and current Youth Workers on their respective portfolios.
- To assist Residential Unit Managers and/ or the Head of Residential Services in the investigation of offences.
- To contribute to SOP-making within the home by providing feedback to management.
- Minimum educational qualification of a Diploma, preferably in a related field e.g. Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work etc.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in a residential setting preferred.
- Basic counselling, mentoring and role modelling skills and understanding of human behaviour.
