Research Unit

The unit is formed as we recognized the needs to provide relevant and up to date research on the issues facing young people today.

As part of the research function, the Research Centre draws on the research skills, knowledge and experience of professional researchers and youth workers in Singapore.

The Research Centre aims to:

  • identify local research issues relevant to young people in Singapore.
  • conduct appropriate, relevant and useful research that addresses these issues.
  • promote research agendas and policies which contribute to an understanding of youth at risk, for which to support young people's capacity to exercise increased control over their lives.
  • promote and encourage awareness of youth issues amongst youth researchers.
  • facilitate communication between educators, researchers and people working in the youth sector of Singapore.
