Let's Take a Walk is an overnight round-island group walking event organised by Raleigh Society as a fund raising event for selected beneficiaries.
This year, Let's Take A Walk is aiming to raise S$80,000 through the 10k JalanWalk, 50km Power Walk and 100km Extreme Walk. The proceeds will be donated to Boys' Town and to fund Raleigh's 2010 international expedition.
10km JalanWalk : This 10km JalanWalk is ideal for families, groups of friends who would like to have an unusual social gathering and a good workout. This year's 10km route takes you along the Formula1 track, so if you can't get tickets to watch the race, come walk the track yourself!
Reporting Date/Time: 20th Dec 2009 (Sunday), 7.00am
Start Time: 7.30am
Start/End Venue: TBC
50km PowerWalk :The 50km PowerWalk is a great chance to gather like-minded friends, colleagues and relatives to take part, as co-walkers, or as ra-ra support team to meet you at selected checkpoints to give them moral support, refreshments and massage. Spending the whole day scrolling together through the heartland, park connectors and local attractions could easily bring your friendship closer!
Reporting Date/Time: 19th Dec 2009 (Saturday), 7.30am
Start Time: 8.00am
Start/End Venue: TBC
100km ExtremeWalk : The 100km ExtremeWalk is the flagship and most challenging route in Let's Take a Walk. The sense of achievement crossing the final checkpoint can only be described by someone who endured 28 hours of fatigue, struggling lack of sleep, muscle ache and blistering feet. The walk is no easy feat and would be both mentally and physically demanding. The walk is not for feeble-minded individuals, but with strong determination, good pre-walk training exercises and a never-say-die attitude, nothing is impossible.
