With a population of 65 residents, the dormitories are one of the most utilized areas in Boys' Town Home. 60 years of use have taken their toll on the dormitory block and various sections are in a state of dilapidation. Current Living Conditions
Proposed New Dormitory The new dormitory will be divided into four sections and house approximately 80 residents. The dormitory will have enlarged individual space with new beds, cupboards and lockers. There will be larger community spaces including a central area for reading and recreation. Each dormitory will have its own improved bathroom and toilet facilities. This would reduce the waiting time with more privacy. The plan also includes a computer room, equipped with 10 PCs, two scanners and two printers. The dormitory block will also contain a study hall, supervision office and TV room. New emergency exits and fire staircases will also be installed. |
