Boys' Voice: OSIM Triathlon

30 boys and the two staff from Boys' Town participated in the OSIM Triathlon. All of them completed their respective races and were given commemorative medals for their achievements.

Today's Triathlon was difficult but it was a great experience as well. During the race, the spectators, most of them I do not know who they are, cheered me on. That motivated me to finish the race. I would like to thank Boys' Town and Mr. Terry for letting us have a chance to participate in this event and I would like to get a better timing next year.

The OSIM Triathlon was fun yet challenging at the same time. The swim was tiring but when I emerged from the water, everyone was cheering for me. Motivated by them, I pushed on. I had difficulties during cycling as I wasn't really proficient at cycling but I did well enough as I had set my mind to finishing the race with the best possible time. As I didn't really performed to my full capacity during the cycling and swimming, I had to catch up with the first in my category and I overtook many In he short run. I hope to participate in more of such events.

The OSIM Triathlon was my first time swimming competitively, running and cycling with so many strangers. I used everything I've got to finish the race as quickly as possible. What I can say is that I tried my best and through this experience, I had discovered that I do have some potential in this. Maybe sometime after I graduate from Boys' Town, I might want to participate in another triathlon and improve on my personal record.

The Triathlon was very fun and exciting. Many people supported us when we were racing. I would like to participate again next year and hope that more boys can join and experience is for themselves. I would also like to thank Mr. Terry for bringing us and introducing this to us.

This is the second time I'm doing this OSIM triathlon. However, this time round, it was more challenging as there are more competitive competitors from Boys' Town who had signed up for this event. I had a whole lot of fun today! I LOVE Triathlon!!! Yeah! XD

- Chua Shan You, aged 15

I was quite exhausted during the race. It was also quite fun at the same time as there were lots of people supporting me. Best Triathlon yet!

I felt that this event was a great experience for all of us as we got to test our endurance both physically and mentally. I feel proud of myself as I was a former 'non-swimmer' and now could swim in the open sea without many difficulties. During the race, I saw many people that were physically and mentally strong. I had great fun and I would like more 'newcomers' to participant in such events next year. I would like to thank the staffs from management community, supervisors and Mr. Terry for the chance to participate in this event.
